Ditch the Workout. Join the Party!
I stumbled upon a Zumba class that was situated between two yoga classes I was teaching and I was HOOKED! I’ve always loved dancing when I go out, but I’ve never been a trained dancer, and have been daunted by many dance classes I’ve tried in the city, which seemed to be geared towards people who have been dancing their whole lives. But Zumba is fun and easy. Once you learn a few steps you are empowered to become one with the music. I love how dance allows you to move in all directions. It is so freeing!
Zumba is so much fun you don’t realize you’re burning calories and improving muscle tone, core strength, balance and coordination. It’s just fun. I can’t even get myself to use a treadmill anymore. I’d rather dance!
My Public Zumba Meetup is on Hiatus from March–May 2014. If you are interested in joining, send me an email and I’ll contact you when we start up again.
Privately, I teach Zumba to clients in their homes, and also to Seniors and Teens through the University Settlement. I am excited to announce that Chair Zumba is working really well for some of my clients with disabilities. Music and coordination exercises inspire them to do more than they think they can, and builds core strength, improves circulation and gets them stretching and breathing!
If interested in joining my public meetup or booking a private Zumba or Chair Zumba session, contact me!
